When I first saw the prototype of the RS5 car on a race in Hungary in 1999 I knew from the first sight that I wanted to have a car like this for myself. Being involved with R/C modelcar racing since 1977 I realized that this was the most beautiful modelcar I have ever seen.  Â
The history behind it is that Jozsef Cserkuti , a former Hungarian road racing champion          ( 1: 1 ), BMW factory driver , once visited a 5th scale race and fell in love with these cars. After racing with some well-known 5th scale cars he decided to build his own design .
His company -- Racing Systems ( RS ) --Â prepares 1: 1 racing cars for privateers in different categories , like touring-cars , Formula Nissan , etc.Â
So, he started with the idea of building a car with a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and using high quality materials like on his big cars. The result is very impressing.
After seeing that I was amazed by this car and knowing that I won several races in Holland already , he offered to build me a car for the coming season . Six months later we finished it together in his workshop during my visit to Budapest at 3.00 o'clock in the morning just a couple of hours before I had to catch my plane back.
So I raced the car in the 2000 season and finished second in the Dutch Championship / Truck class . I was also successful with the car at the TOPSA British GP in Halifax in that year.
After receiving positive feedback and big interest we decided to start with a limited numbered production.
